Skit 2: Based on the Circle of Contacts [By Wayne Fry]
First: Sorry [ name ], I didn’t see you sitting there. How have you been lately? Second: Not bad. First: Hey, our priest is doing a pretty good job up there isn’t s/he? Second: Yeah, you’re right. S/he really has a lot of energy and passion for the Lord. First: When I sat down by you, it looked like you were writing something. Second: Why, yes, I was. I was starting to fill out my Invite a Friend Sunday Circle of Contacts form. First: Circle of Contacts form? I didn’t get one of those. Second: Well then, you didn’t look in your bulletin. (holds up form) Everyone has one. First: Oh, I see. Well, how do you use the form? Second: The guide is to help you prayerfully consider a guest that you would like to invite to worship with us. First: Intriguing. Tell me more. Second: Well, it has a diagram on the back that allows you to list potential guests that you could invite, such as a neighbor, a co-worker, a classmate, or a family member. First: Like my brother? Second: No, although your brother is always welcomed here. I think it is looking more for someone who doesn’t have a personal relationship with Christ. First: Gotcha. Second: You then list your potential guests on the form and pray daily for them. First: How are you going to remember to pray for them everyday? Second: Well, I was thinking about putting the list on the refrigerator so that every morning I would see it before I go to work. First: So that’s it. What if I can’t come up with anyone to pray about? Second: I hope that you could think of one person. But even if you can’t, you can still use the form to pray about the event itself. First: I could pray that others would have the courage to ask people and step out in faith. (both get up and start walking towards the back of the church) Second: Now you're starting to get the idea. First: [ name ], I am so glad that I have a friend like you. You are the best.
