Sample letter 1

Send around September 21, 2008, six weeks before Invite a Friend Sunday. Please adjust contents according to your church’s situation.

Dear Church Family,

November 2, 2008 has been designated as Invite a Friend Sunday for our church. It’s a day for you to invite a friend, co-worker, family member, classmate, neighbor, business associate, new acquaintance, or anyone else who does not actively participate in another church.

Our worship service on November 2 will be a blend of traditional worship mixed with praise songs. Sunday school will be available for all ages as well.

We will have a potluck lunch following the worship service. Please bring one of the following (your choice) to share with 10 people: meat, side, salad, or dessert. Drinks and rolls will be provided. You are encouraged to come to the lunch and to participate in the fellowship whether or not you have guests. The day’s schedule will be:

Coffee Time: 8:30
Sunday School:  9:00-10:00
Blended worship service:  10:15-11:45
Potluck Lunch:    Noon till ?

Remember the church needs you to help make Invite a Friend Sunday a special day. We know that you will want to share the warmth of our Fellowship and the love of God we enjoy in Jesus Christ.

You will find an enclosed invitation to share (additional copies are available) and a Circle of Contacts to fill out.

Sincerely,

Invite a Friend Sunday Committee
