Vision: The Presentation

First screen of vision presentationAt the 224th Diocesan Convention on February 29, 2008, the Right Onward Committee offered a presentation that laid out the initiatives, focus and goals for the future. On this page, you can download and watch that presentation (1.6 MB) in Microsoft PowerPoint slideshow format. If that format doesn't work for you, you can download and watch the presentation in PDF format (2.64 MB).

If you are living the vision in a unique way and would like to share your idea, download the flyer, Growth through Welcoming and Inclusion. For suggestions on how your congregation can become more welcoming and inclusive, download the Activities and Ideas flyer.

Growth through welcoming and inclusion

Faith communities are overflowing with all the diverse people of God's creation, proclaiming by word and example the Good News of God in Christ.

We envision:

  • Congregations growing, being supplied with practical tools and concrete examples to become welcoming, open and inclusive
  • Members sharing their faith stories first with one another and then with the lost, the strayed, the seeker in the wider community
  • Congregations reflecting the diversity of their surrounding communities by k nowing and embracing the diversity of the community of which they're a part and equipping members to step into unfamiliar situations to proclaim the Good News of Christ.

The Right Onward Committee's Goal is to be a champion and catalyst for the 2008 Vision Initiative across the Diocese. Their expected results are a growth in spirit and numbers of our congregations through focused attention and implementation of ideas.
